  • MLF Change

Applies to power stations only
Indicative: low MLF to high MLF, for the selected MLF year

Smaller = smoother but slower (5 km takes ~10 s the first time)
Substation
Power station
Filled with their own MLF (same colours as the surface)
Draped on the surface. Comet directions come from the selected surface method; comets running downhill (red to blue) follow its MLF gradient.
KDE: Gaussian kernel-weighted average of the MLF points in each region. Small distance = local detail, large = regional trend.
Hills = low MLF (energy sources), valleys = high MLF (sinks). Interpolated from substation and power station MLFs within each region; steps at region borders are expected. Right-click and drag to rotate.

Red = MLF fell, blue = MLF rose (change = To − From). Only points with an MLF in both years are compared. Download CSV

Energy by fuel

Source: AEMO 30-min dispatch (charging_infra), summarised in arche_db (nem_gen). Rooftop solar from AEMO rooftop PV estimates. Emissions intensity covers scheduled generation (excludes rooftop). Storage charging and pumping are shown below zero and not counted as generation. 'Other' includes biomass and units without a fuel type; 'Unassigned' holds units without a region (mostly aggregated or virtual units).

Each hexagon sums the stations inside it. Blue = near 0, red = the day's busiest hexagon (MW) or 100% of installed capacity (% mode).
Day, half hour (with play), MW / % of capacity and technology below apply to all three maps.

MW: circle area is proportional to output. % of capacity: the outline is the station's capacity and the filled part its output. A white ring means the station is charging or consuming. Units without a station on the map are counted in the totals.

Units

Units are linked to stations by DUID (exact, or prefix such as VBB -> VBB1). Corrections can be added to nem_gen.duid_station with method 'manual'.
